We are very pleased to introduce the Scrapping Turtle Design Team!

Check out the great work that our Design Team has done in Turtle Soup!

Tanya CapleCherie Nymeyer

Hi, my name is Cherie Nymeyer. I live in Cambridge, Ontario with my hubby and 1 year old son. I’ve been scrapping since late 2003 and have watched my style evolve over the years into the clean line and simple style it is today. First and foremost I create single page 12x12 layouts although I do enjoy creating cards and home decor items from time to time. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a few manufacturer design teams including Pebbles Inc., myStampBOX, and recently I’ve been asked to join the team for Gel-a-tins Stamps. I am truly passionate about scrapbooking and usually find time to scrap at least 3 times a week.

Heather HaggettJennifer Klawitter

My name is Jenn and I am commonly known as paper_addict on Turtle Soup.  Yes, I have a BIG problem, I'm addicted to paper!  All the pretty colours, designs and themes just call my name.....Jenn, Jenn, Jenn, Jenn.

I've been scrapbooking for about 3 years or so now, but only on a regular and more serious basis for 1 1/2 to 2 years.  Initially I wasn't so sure about it but it consumed my friends, so I decided to investigate.  It's been all about scrappy things since!  I came to realize that all the photos I had stored in boxes came to life with scrapbooking.  Rather then have them cooped up in boxes stored in the closet and rarely looked at, why not create with them, capture themes and have fun with all the memories your pictures possess.  Another wonderful thing about scrapbooking for me on a personal note, is the common interest I found with my teenage daughter.  Time with a teenager  and parent is sparse and precious.  Scrapbooking has allowed me to maintain a close connection as we capture all the wonderful things in life a family enjoys.

I'm not sure I have a defined style, I like to call my style "Jenn Style".  I tend to gravitate to bright fun colours most of the time, blocking, lines and love embelishments; particularily buttons and ribbon/fibres.  That's not to say all my work is of that nature, as I learn new techniques and find new products I sometimes burst out of my norm with something completely different.  In my opinion, a true scrapbooker is never set to one style.  As with anything in life, a personal style evolves.  I  mean really, how many of us started with stickers and punch outs as the prime creativity in our work?? And, where are we now? Well beyond that!

VIcki MurrayJulie Gillespie

I am a working, single mom of a 23yr old daughter, Rachel that still lives at home despite my dropping hints LOL.  I have to give Rachel credit for getting me involved in scrapbooking....for her 18th birthday, I decided to make a scrapbook highlighting my favourite photos of her first 18 years. From then on, I was hooked. My style has evolved over the last 5 years as I've become more and more addicted, obsessed, and passionate about scrapbooking. My current passion is trying to incorporate newly learned techniques in my layouts and using recycled materials when I can. I tend be drawn towards earthy colours and more shabby chic designs, although sometimes a paper speaks to me and I try something different.

I recently created a blog so that I can share my passion with others that also love this creative outlet. I chose the name, All That Glitters, because I have to admit to loving bling! Whether it is little pearls, sparkling crystal flourishes, metallic touches, Stickles or Glimmer Mist, each of my layouts feature some bling. I look forward to sharing my layouts and eventually, tutorials for techniques I've learned or "happy accidents" (those things you weren't really trying to create, but which resulted in something pretty cool anyway.

I am amazed by the talent pool that is out there in the world of scrapping enthusiasts, and I love to learn from others as well as share my own thoughts, experiences and passion with others.

Michele "Mimita" Harris

Shelley ScheeringaI am Michèle (aka Mimita or just Mim). Originally from Montreal, I now live in the beautiful Laurentians of Quebec with my husband Jeff. We have been married for just about 20 years and we are retired foster parents; our youngest, all grown up now, moved out last year. Therefore, I now have more time on my hands and so, while I work from home with accounting, administration and translation; my spare time is devoted to scrapbooking and crafting.

As far as I can remember, I have always had a love of colours. At an early age I was already sewing, drawing and painting. Over time my passion led me to acrylic and oil painting, playing with digital colours, textures, animation and 3D art, and also working with dried flowers, and trying out all kinds of crafts as well as writing. I love everything beautiful, colourful, textured, 3-Dimensional and expressive! One day I found scrapbooking!! It was about 4 years ago. I fell in love with the possibilities that this activity encompasses... The truth is that scrapbooking ties everything together!! Literally, all of the above have their place in scrapbooking, it’s limitless.

What’s my style? What a difficult question! Perhaps my layouts are vibrant and colourful as much as the photos allow. I prefer vivid colours. I have tried most styles and I’m not done exploring, it depends on the mood and come to think of it, I believe we should not limit ourselves to one style. I guess I find variety and versatility both fun and exciting. I tend to prefer a busy page with lots of details. Although the sight of a well balanced Clean & Simple layout leaves me breathless; I love the «less is more» effect! I also love funk and steam punk, new and original, and I enjoy seeing what others do as much as I enjoy doing it. Sharing ideas is stimulating and it makes your own experience grow, it’s great to see others grow too; it’s a wonderful thing!!

Virginia Zavitz

I have been scrapping on and off for the last 5 or so years, but really seriously for the last two or so.  I fell in love with scrapbooking because it helps me to appreciate the here and now.  I think I've stayed in love with it because it has allowed me to document those little moments that I would have forgotten otherwise, and I can't lie - I also love love love the supplies!

My scrapping style is simple and "short and sweet". I love to scrap but am not one who can sit for a few hours at a time so I tend to spend a max of 30 mins per page.  I would love to spend more time per page but if I did I'd never get any pages completed!  I also love every page to have a bit of dimension or texture, I have a serious addiction to thickers and also love little embellies like buttons.
